After long discussion and advide from Musik Schmidt (a German music shop) I am finally ready for my first Custom Shop bass. Even though I wil notl order it now (I just don't have the financial possibilities at the moment.

So here it is:
Warwick Streamer Stage 1 /5-string
Hardware: Gold
Headstock: Matched Headstock
Fingerboard: Tigerstripe Ebony
Hals: Broadneck, Ovangkol
Body: Back Flamed Maple AAA, Front Bubinga Pommele
Finish: Natural Oil
Pickups: MEC active soapbar humbuckers (X2)
Electronics: MEC active 3 band
Bubinga Pommele Stripes in neck

I know that it will be very heavy, but I like that and the feeling of the Broadneck.

What do you think about it?
 
the maple back will cost you a fortune:-) - as much as a maple top as ash is standard ´for all basses that get another wood for the top

I would not do this:-)
 
I would go with plain maple for the back. Otherwise, it sounds like it would be a killer!
 
I guess, since an AAA Flamed Maple Body is standard on a SSI, he doesn't have to pay extra. He just orders the Bubinga Top.

Sounds like a beautiful bass, man!

as far as I know... nope
he will have to pay for the top wood with ash backside, and then again surcharge for changing the backside to maple.

(right?)
 
Well, it is not like they cut the original piece of wood in two, and ad a top.

When you chose a top, for us the standard is with swamp ash back.
So you chose a totally different body, not a top on the same body. If you want a different back, we can do it too.
 
Yes, but what is the actual difference in gluing two different pieces of wood together, right from the beginning? Instead of puuting Ash & Bubinga together, you just put Maple & Bubinga together...
 
First of all, we have the ash backs prepared for this. While we don't have cuts from all the woods prepared to make a back.
