Hey all haven’t posted in a while but I now have an opportunity to buy one of two streamer SSIIs from a friend that unfortunately I cannot play before buying due to distance. So here goes -
First one is a 1990 with Seymour Duncan pickups and a Glockenlang 3band preamp.
Second is a 1995 with Bartolinis and a 2 band preamp, not sure if it’s an MEC or Bartolini. I’ve owned a stock MEC model years ago and liked it but I’m concerned that both of these may not sound like a true Warwick. If you had this choice please let me know which and why. Thanks so much!

Hi mate! That is not easy to judge. Just from these small informations I would say the electronics of the 1995 SS2 should be closer to the typical Warwick sound. But I for myself would only check the wood grain and the truss rod and buy the better built and better looking SS2. Electronics can be swapped.

Wow nobody? Interesting…

Welcome back to the forum !

It's hard to advise you on which to take. Choosing a bass is a personal choice, if it fits what you want/need or not, if it feels the way you want or not, if it is not too heavy, if the neck is the shape you want etc.

If I were to pick one, I would choose the one closer to original spec (the 1995).
