Streamer Stage 1 1993

Hi guys, i just spotted a 1993 Streamer Stage 1 5 on my local used market site thingy, at what translates into 1140,67 euro!!!
i have been looking to upgrade from my Thumb bo 4(great sound and feel, but i found it to have too little "natural" low end and the bridge pickup almost useless (for me)) to a Streamer 5 and this is just perfect!
I'm very excited to get out and try it and my main concerns are if i will like the neck opposed to my thumbs :S
and the weight of that thing.. how much do they average at? i mean.. i'm 1,95 m but i can feel my shoulder after a long gig

However, i am no expert on "vintage" Warwicks and im wondering if there are any "common" problems or things i should be aware of with the Streamers from the early 90'ies?? perhaps even stuff that i should listen for?

Its got Bartolini soapbars, and from what i read on the web that goes together with a Bartolini 2 band pre..

Is there anyone on the forum with any recordings of a Bartolini equipped SS1?
I would love to hear one!

hi mikkel!

i have a 91 with barts and mec pre. it's my main bass since i bought it and i love it.
but... my bass is a very snappy, percussive and very mid focused sounding monster. unusual for what you hear from the bartolini sound...
i even had to buy a new rig for my stage amp sound. but like i said i love it to death and it has more character then my 02 6stringer with mec pickups.

the best is to try that bass yourself but believe me you'll surely like it!
weight is not that heavy for 5er, wide fretboard but smooth and slim, perfect pin position for the straplocks = perfect balanced. overall great feeling, handling and sound

i have one song on myspace which was recorded with my baby but the sound is not that like it sounds naturally. reason was the treble and mids so the producer boosts the lows (too much for my taste) on this one but have a listen :

Does your knob layout look the same as "mine"(as in does it have the stack knob)? isn't quite special to have bartolini pickups with mec pre?

yes my bass has the same knob layout and all other things like thick wenge stripes in the neck, no volute and simple streamer bass truss rod cover:

so far i can see is that warwick used to place barts and emg pickups before inventing mec but alway used mec/bec pre since late '80.
my emg equipped thumbs are having bec too such as my coming '90s custom shop streamer stage1 5string with basslines.
