Streamer Bass Number 196 / from 1984. Seriously old Seriously Beautiful.

Hey Guys,

Like my fellow Northerner Warwickhunt i thought i would show off the bass i have recently purchased, this one in question i bought from our forum's own Sascha! who was an absolute pleasure to deal with.

The bass is from 1984 and is stamped number 196 of interest for all you Warwick geeks out there, it features the Spector Style headstock *spade* without the Stuart Spector Licensing as it came before Warwick had to state Spector Licensing agreements. The bass is certainly not going to become a museum piece! and i play it everyday, i tried it at band practice last night and its incredible how quickly i adapted to the fretless style of playing its a very fun experience, Sascha also provided me with the original fitted case from an even older Streamer dating back to god knows when, stamped with number 22.

Like my other 1988' Stage II this bass is just incredible in feel, sound, and look. The body comprises of Cherry Wings, and a multi laminate Wenge and Cherry/Maple neck and Ebony Fingerboard, original bridge, schaller tuners and brass nut and the original EMG pickups, the Mwah on this bass is just fantastic and the bite and drive has to be heard to be believed.

I'm very happy with with it as you can tell and thought i would pop some images of the bass along with my other old Streamer on here as i'm sure some of you guys will appreciate them!.

IIRC your SSII was barely months apart from my former bass and they looked like they could have been crafted from the same piece of tree!

I'm digging my fretless and I'm even looking for songs that my band can do that would suit fretless; The Eagles - 'One of these nights' being next on our set list. LOL

Haha i know mate! its a shame I'm not currently in Newcastle *still work in Portsmouth* cause i would have loved to have seen your new streamer! I have to say i am seriously enjoying my bass, i thought i wouldn't get on with the fretless and was so close to not even trying it, as i previously mentioned i had it booked in for a refret which was cancelled almost instantly, i tried mine at band practice and i loved it, naturally a few slip ups, but it sounded incredibly chrisp and just sitted and melted with the sound better, i'm guilty of placing my fingers at the end of the neck for that fat mwwwwaaaaaah double bass sound which doesn't suit the band at all, but its fun for me!
