Strap

I have a Levy's padded leather strap. Expensive, but wonderful! Also, my vette is coming with straplocks!
 
I use a Comfort Strapp. It's super padded and it prevents the neck dive of my Thumb BO.
 
i use NeoTech Super Bass Straps, I love them and the main pad is semi-elastic so wright is taken off of your bass for you.
 
i use this strap, wich is wonderfull.

It saved my back.
 
On the leather y strap, did you find the bass to come off if you body at a 45 degree angle to your shoulders if you looked top down? I saw a similar strap, and I tried making one out of duct tape to try it out (yet another use for duct tape). I liked the feel on the shoulder and on my left hand, but I did not like how the neck moved forward, so that I could not easily see the fretboard. I am not a 100% neck looker, but on complex runs and octave slides, I do need to look.

Maybe a bit, but i can easily see the fretboard if i want.

I have one of these too and I love it.

I also have a Ralph Martin one because I like to have a wide strap and long that would let me play my OLP almost to my knees so that is the reason why I got it.

I go for the 4" wide fleece-backed leather straps
from the GC. The fleece, plus the width, provide
the comfort and the fleece doesn't fray the dress
shirts that I'm expected to wear. I use these for
both EBMMs and Warwicks, neither of which are
known for light weights. None of my basses have
neck dive [suitable minor mods as needed], so I
don't need anything really grippy, just cushy.

hmm
im gonna go ahead and say the sadowsky comfort strap.
it just takes my thumb bo 5 weight away...

edit: the sadowsky comfort strap IS a neotech mega bass strap.
get that!

Relocating the rear strap pin [end pin] is very
typical, and less often is building an extension
for the top horn strap button.

Of course, if these maneuvers aren't enuf to
put a bass in good hang balance then I don't
buy that bass. IOW, if you ask me "I love this
ax. It sounds sooper. My hero plays one. But
the neck dive if horrific ... " my only advice is
"Get rid of it" or "Don't buy it". I fix annoying
problems, but I don't do miracles.

I consider my mods to be minor, but others
do consider them drastic cuz I actually drill
holes, penetrating the surface with a cutting
tool. Oh horrors !! Yesterday I went after my
Mustang with a handheld router [aka Dremel]
cuz friggin Fender thinks it's normal to unbolt
the neck to tweak the rod. I do not agree. My
Mustang can now be set up without removing
the neck. Maybe I'm weird, but I consider it
perfectly normal to leave the neck on a bass
for years, or even decades, at a spell .....

I have tried relocating the bottom strap pin on my old
Ibanez "oar" bass, but I did not see much difference.
Tried both higher and lower, perhaps you have tried
moving it behind the back of the bass in some way.
Oh well it isn't a heavy or neck heavy bass so it
probably is not really neccessary. I 'd like to see your
upper horn mods/ideas, i think a lot of people may
start contemplating them for their neck heavy Thumbs
for example, although such a mod would be much more
intimidating than drilling holes on a Mustang eh? :)
 
I use the widest WarWick and Levy straps, otherwise my back backs out on a 14 pound bass.
 
+1 on the comfort strap. it isn't fancy, more like a military-issue heavy equipment strap than a fancy instrument strap, but VERY functional and well made.
