Hey guys.

I just wanted to take the chance to introduce my band a bit.
We're 4 young musicians out of Germany, Bavaria, Traunreut.
Our style of music is kind of... we don't know what we are playing, in fact. it differs from song to song - and furthermore every one of us is into slightly different styles and... yeah.
Only thing we agree is not being too serious about this all.



We had pretty long problems about chosing a name. But at some point we just decided "Starsheriff Orchestra" would suit us. Than this whole stuff with silly hats and porn-glasses came :D

We are going to join some band-contests in the next few weeks, so we had to do a lot of recording. Closing date is tomorrow - well - so we did this whole stuff today. Crappy equiptment (mixer -> Minidisc) turned out to make pretty much problems with overdrives, especially with my bass - so i really had to hold myself back. It derogates my sound a bit, but ... however.

Even if it's in german, the navigation should be understandable for everyone. Just go to "Media" than to "Mp3s" dann you got the 5 (out of 11) songs for DL.

Comment to our songs: Yeah, like i said - recording quality is low due to crappy equiptment. playings and singings are probably also not on a tooooo high level. And you don't have to mention that the "blues.mp3" somehow sucks. We weren't able to record this song like we wanted it to be - but our intention is to give a hint, we're not only playing and making ballads but more some heavy rock stuff.

Would be really nice if you could comment on them, or even post something in our guestbook (no matter in what language)

P.S.: You're hearing the Corvette $$ NT Bubinga, but like said before only in half power :(

love this kind of stuff. :D It sounds a bit as if Les Claypool took some weed to chill out a bit............. :lol:

Had to dig a bit to find this thread.
A little bit of story:
Someday in Myspace some guys wrote a message. They said they were from and "Independend Movie-Company" (or some students doing a movie, no hint) - they liked our sound and wanted us to do a theme song for their first project: "The amazing Space Monkeys VS Manni the Proll-Bot"
Seems to be some sort of Sci-Fi persiflage.

We didn't think much about it but liked the idea.

We recorded with my Digitech JamMan Looper and had really a hard time again mixing the stuff only through a mixer directly into the recorder (all the same time in mono - so no after-mixing is possible :( )
I don't think it's the final recording due to some lacks in playing and hitting notes while singing and playing guitar (after a night of boozing :D ) and we went out of time and won't have chance to record again before march. So this is the version the movie guys have to deal with for now ;)

Would be nice to hear some feedback!

So guys! It's been a long time and a long and stupid story - I want to share.

Some of my friends are able to use the study at their university. So in June last year we went for recording. They mixed 2 songs as it was part of one of their exams. But they are not really into stuff like that, no pros.
The rest of the mixing should have been done by ourself - BUT! than:
Our tracks were lost. Nobody knew where and how they were gone. We were pretty pissed by then.
A few days before christmas one of our friends called me. He told me, totally excited, they have found them again!

So here they are. I mixed the tracks together - but it's PRETTY rough. I'm planing to do a big mastering in a few weeks - when I've got more time.
But I'm also a n00b in this matter.
So I would REALLY appreciate, if you guys listend to the roughmixes I made - and helped me with some advice.

You can find them either on myspace, regioactive or our homepage (links at the end of the post). Myspace is easiest, but I don't think it's the right thing to judge and give advice on mixing because the mp3s loose a lot of quality (imo).

I've also made a little "sampler" - it's all the songs available, a cover and the band picture from above.

Every comment is REALLY REALLY appreciated. (If some of you want to, postings in our guestbook on our homepage would be even better - because my whole band is reading them there)
