Hello,

I'm the happy owner of a vintage Star Bass 5/150. My instrument is quite complete, the only exception being two little holes in the body where a thumb rest once stood. Well, to be precise it is not a thumb rest, but a finger rest since it is placed below the strings... Is there anyone who can provide me with a close up picture an original thumb rest and maybe add some dimensions to it? This might help to find something as close to the original as possible.

Thanks!

Hallo Willem,

It´s difficult to make the thumbrest self, the original part is nickel plated and the draw and measures are lost. I think the best is to buy an original part by a vintage trader or to dissemble from an Star Bass in bad condition. Perhaps can you help Norbert Schnepel his web adress is https://www.musikkeller.com/ he have many vintage parts in his offering.

Here an Star Bass from our website how you can see the thumbrest on the photo.
