I've just returned to the Warwick family after a 3 year break. I've had many Warwicks since 1993 from Streamer LX4, 98 Stramer Stage 1 4 string with 5A flame maple high gloss french violet, 01 Thumb 5 through neck, 06 Infinaty 5 custom shop with 5A flame maple neck & back with bur maple front in high gloss french violet. Just picked up a battered 00 Streamer Stage 1 4 again in high gloss nurv. black. The flame maple is superb but the high gloss clear coat finish has been well abused with very bad buckle rash on the back throught to the wood & loads of bashes all over. It sounds as tight as you'd expect but I plan on returning her back the A1 condition you'd expect from such a beautiful intrament. I am planning 2 options, first to get a quote from a good guitar finisher who can strip & refinsh her in a high gloss dark burgandy or strip & refinish it myself. I was a trained guitar maker back in the early 70's & am currently a boat builder so have the skills but at the moment not the time. Any sugestions on any qualiuty refinishers who who are up to the task without being too expensive? Cheers, Rob.
