Someone with some real music wisdom please help with identifying if possible

Hi sorry if I’m asking this question in the wrong forum, I definitely am not trying to agitate anyone and am just reaching out to see if anyone can help me identify this “banjo guitar” (that’s what my i was told it is) but that is all I know there is only on marking on it and what I am thinking could be a signature but some don’t think it is so who knows… just trying to find some answers it was a gift and hangs on my wall but when people ask I have nothing really to tell them except what every I can make up lol …. I attatched some pics ty open to any and all suggestions and comments

What a strange instrument, accoustic, banjo style for the 5th string, the soundholes on the horn side, never see a thing like this !
What strings gauge on it ?

A banjo guitar is usually the other way around: a guitar neck on a banjo body. The lack of any kind of logo makes me think this was somebody's homemade experiment, but the build quality looks really good in these pics. Banjos are super heavy, so maybe someone wanted a lighter weight alternative? Or a mellower tone?
