Been hardcore playing a video game named Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. It's hard to do good on that game and I had to practice daily to stay good. Put my bass playing aside. Today, was the first time I played in 4 days, and I sucked badly. And I went totally mad because of this. And then, I looked at myself acting like this for A GOD DAMN VIDEO GAME and I was truly ashamed of myself. I've played for a cumulative 14 days of playtime on this "game". I was totally obsessed by it.

Seriously, for all the young people on the forums that involve themselves too much in a game, rethink about it. What does it bring into your life? Will it ever pay back in any shape of form to be good at a video game? To me, nothing. So I uninstalled it, and decided that NEVER again I shall do this again.

Back to playing bass and reading some books.

P.S.: thank you, this was more to vent off than anything else.

Nice work Philippe! Nobody can tell you something like this, but to realise it yourself is great - it will pay itself back tenfold.

I don't have anything against games in moderation, but I see too many of my students throw away fabulous opportunities because they allow themselves to become obsessed by games.

Great work ;)

Welcome back.

I used to play videogames myself - Unreal Tournament, and others... It was bad.
I don't lie to you, I don't remember much of 2000 - 2001.

Never again with the games.

thanks people :P, happy to be rocking my warwick much more now. I was still playing bass, but was practicing a lot less. Anyway, I'm happy to have all that time I didn't have before because I "had" to play that game.

I mean, 14 days? Seriously? and you did not finish COD? Tabarnak! T'es poche en criss mon homme! :o)

It certainly bad to play that much when the Montreal Habs are in play-offs. You'll have more time to watch hockey on RDS now :o)

a pal of mine was hooked on rockband till he said i'm wasting my time getting good at a game instead of playing a real guitar.then he stopped playing the game and started playing for real.

ah there's nothing wrong with computer games. Everythin in moderation, thats what i say!! It's nice to be able to loose yourself in a game once in a while

Yeah, of course I'll watch them tonight, I wouldn't be a true montreal guy if I didn't watch them. It was multiplayer playtime XD.

You're from Quebec I guess then (you know RDS so that's my guess, as well as our culturally fascinating vocabulary)?

Games: Fine in moderation, but they really suck you in xD.

Ever heard of the Final Fantasy games? That pretty much distracted me for about a year, hehe

LOL @ tabarnak,my girlfriend always swears in french like that!

Btw, finishing Modern Warfare took me about 3 days on medium/whatsitcalled setting. Now, I`m visiting Homeworld again, just for the good ole`feeling.

Lived in Québec (Québec ma ville,Limoilou mon style!) for 4 and half year... to the point the french, including my family, say I have an accent, and that I got annoyed by the french accent. :o) I'm also able to watch themovie Slapshot in Quebecer and understand it, so I can say I was fully integrated. :o)

As someone who lived in Québec City, I can't stand the Canadien, though. Liked them a bit until they got rid of Huet, which was a shame.

@sbociol, the Québec way of swearing in so much richer than the french one, and funnier :)
