Am I the only one here who thinks that the warwick singlecut design should be named in memory of Maddrakket?

My time on the forum began a bit too late to get to know him, but alot of people here were good friends of his. I think that its only fitting that a bass designed by the Warwick community should be named in memoriam of one of its members?

Thoughts? Suggestions?

Ok, don't get me wrong, I liked Mark just as much as the next guy, he was nice, he showed great courage when facing his end, and we're all sorry that he had to go...

However, this might just be taking the whole tribute thing a little too far. He's got a part of the forum named after him, we all remember him, but we don't need to have everything we do as a forum group to be in memoriam of Mark...

I know what I'm saying here might sound harsh, but it's just the way I feel about it...

Yeah, I see your point, I just think if you want a tribute to someone, it should be more permanent than a sig, or message or whatever.

I fell much the same, but one of the basses in the SC thread was named after him, and it got me thinking

I agree with Patrick on this one.

The caffe section being named after him is fitting as he was a great guy to hang about with a chat to on this forum, and he is being missed

If he was say part of the SC idea that sparked the competition i could see going and having the SC named after him.

speaking of that, does anyone know how will the new SC be named?
 
I'd call it voluptuous 'cause you know, Single cuts are fat and like.. well... fat.
 
well, some entrants have already selected names for their creations, my two which have made the cut are "Orca" and "Halberd"...
 
I agree with Jan ... and to take it one step further, while some of us might really like the idea of a tribute bass for Mark. Outside this and the other forums he was such a loved member of, the biggest majority of people that would buy a Warwick SC Bass have no clue who Mark was that they might be turned off the bass purely because they don't want to own a memorial bass for someone they don't know ....

On the other hand, what might be cool is come up with a special memorial inlay and then those members that want to memorialize him, can have that inlay added as say a CS option. Or just buy the inlay outright and have a local luthier add it to an exsisting bass for them.

Just my two cents worth .....
