Argh! Rough day today.

I ended up being layed off from my temp position at the factory I worked for today. Which, wasn't so bad, I knew it was inevitable what with the slow season approaching us.

However, when I decided to clean my baby up for her big show on Saturday, my JANIII decided to break!!!

ARGH!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, she's playable for her big gig on Saturday, I flogged her long enough to assure that. Looks like next week I'll be heading up to my local shop and ordering a JANI, that's right, a JANI as opposed to a JANIII.

Something about open notes ringing clear as fretted ones kind of turns me on in the direction.

That, and the assurance of knowing there's no stupid little tangues to break anymore either! :P

Just felt like I needed to vent my frustration. Thanks for reading. :d.
 
yeah, my JAN II been broken for some time, it doesn't move though.

The JAN I doesn't have the same size as the other JAN's btw.
 
Sorry about the job. The JanIII is disappointing, it's a great idea... but it's sooo fragile! Imho WW should dump the JanIII, and Mec, but that's just me. :)
 
Tyler.Your JAN 3 broke?The nut without side retainer tabs?or the nut with the pin & hole retainer?
I dont understand how a JAN3 can break under normal operation.
It's the JAN2,with side tabs,that's the one prone to breaking.
fwi,there's a brass JAN3 coming out sometime soon if ya wanna go that route.

+ 1 on waiting for the brass JAN3, I like it better than JAN1
 
I've broken 3 JAN II's but i can't work out how to break a JAN III.

A Brass JAN III - Oh my! - i was gonna grab a JAN III for my FNA but i'll wait for the brass one now!

But on the other hand I was checking out your bands myspace, and all I can say is @$*%in' awesome dude - you guys rock!!!:evil::evil:

Could you please let us know how the JAN1 switch sounds.
 
I have the JAN with the side tabs, it's two pieces. Always assumed it's the JANIII...

If there's a brass JANIII in the works, I may just hold out.

But yet Greg, one of the side tabs (retainer tangues) broke off. They're very thin & fragile. Wouldn't be so bad is Warwick made them from graphite, but plastic? Bas choice imho. (I know it keeps cost down, but some things I'd rather not save on, know what I mean?)

I'd like to get it replaced ASAP. I have an '04 ProLine Corvette, what should I do!? I like the idea of the brass JANIII due to adjustability, but I also don't want to wait to long for fear of losing the floating piece.

And thanks for the concerns guys, and krkoz, thanks for checking out Auditory Addiction, glad you dig it man! Now we just need to get to a studio to re-record those tracks, and our newer ones. (And a MySpace makeover, of course, lol.)
 
The JANIII normal was designed not to break like the JANII (yours and mine).

However, when the brass JANII will come out, I'm gonna buy it for sure!
 
I must have the JanII also, yeah, it's not good. But brass with adjustments and doesn't rattle - that's awesome!

you have the JAN II
that's a bad construction with those side tabs. they brake off quite easy, but the nut can be used without those side tabs, as long as you don't take off the strings.

now, let's have a look at the JAN III, which costs 24 euros !!! WHY is that ♣♣♣♣ so expensive ?
the brass JAN III will cost as much as a set of EMG pickups i think...

All that I know is that ill be offered as standard for NT and Custom Shop Warwicks, and of course it will be for sale. Probably from January 2010 .
 
I guess I'll just order the standard JANIII today then... Maybe get the JANI... I think the combo would be insane though! :shock:

Which size JANI would I want to order if I went with it?
 


The JAN III is a great nut. Its style of adjustability is a great bonus, plus it's very durable, unlike JAN II. But hell, even a JAN II with broken tabs would do the job as it is fastened by the string tension. About JAN I, I don't think it can make your open strings sound fretted. Open strings are well, open. I haven't used one though and it might help somewhat towards that direction.

 
Well, regardless, I'll have to wait until tomorrow to buy either one.

My temp agency says my check has been deposited into my bank account, yet Chase has not posted it yet... I hate direct deposit, it's such crap. :d
