Short-scale neck question

I'm excited about the new Corvette short-scale basses, but not about the color options.

My plan is to buy a new Corvette short-scale and a used Corvette long-scale in Burgandy Red oil and swap the necks.

Would this be possible?

Welcome to the forum! A bass mutilator, eh? You 're my kind of guy. You will probably have problems with intonation as the bridge is located closer to the neck joint on the shorter scale bass, especially if you switch between 30.5" and 34". As a side note, I have replaced a 32" neck with a 34" one on my Streamer without problems, in fact the saddle pieces are in the middle of the bridge assembly. But your mileage may vary.

Well, at least you could try, but be sure you don't do irreversible things, like forcing neckscrews that don't fit, etc...

Thanks for replying.

I was checking out the pics on the the site, and both the long and short-scale bodies appear to have the bridge and pickups in the same locations yet the neck pickup appears closer to the end of the fingerboard.

I'm hoping Warwick uses a "short-scale conversion" neck.

There's always the option of a custom shop bass, to your exact specifications. Pricey, but you will have what you want.

Pricey indeed, but window shopping at the custom shop is free.

If all else fails, I would be more than satisfied with a clear satin shortie.
