Well, one of my guitarist and best friends are currently in Las Vegas, working for a norwegian F-16 squadron.

I`ve "instructed" (begged) him to be on the lookout for gear, since it`s usually 50-60% of the NOK-price. Now, he found a LINE 6 Bass pod XT Pro, but sadly it has a built-in power-unit.

Now, does anyone know if there are any similiar products to the Bass Pod, with an external power source? Rack-mounted preferred, and at the sime price. I`ll use it both live and in studio.

And how about those racktuners? External or internal, or switchable?

Line6 has got a POD X3 now. It handles guitar and bass in one unit. There is also a live version. :twisted:
 
As mentioned before there is the live pedal version and also the rack version. Other companies make many different things like this. I suggest you go on www.musiciansfriend.com and look out for multi-effects. Use it only as a refernce for what you are looking for, since their prices are a little too high, but it should give you an idea of most of the things in the market.
 
I'm not familiar with any rackmount units that have an external power supply (like a wall wart).

The power supply in America is 110v, whereas in Europe it's 220.

My GK head is an American model, and I have to use a power transformer to run without blowing it up. It's annoying.
 
That`s true. I`ve no need for a 110V-only piece of equipment, thus it has to have a 110/220-switch or an external powerunit.

Sh*t, I can`t even buy a racktuner over there.
 
Try looking for gear that has universal power switching.These can be used anywhere in the world as the power transformer switches itself to the local voltage.Here we use 240 volt DC.
