"Shocking"

As most of you guys know, I have a $$. Yesterday, I was slapping around, and BZZZT! "@#$%!". I got shocked by my bridge, lol. Tis a very minor shock, but it disrupts my playing. Is there something going weird with my ground wire? If so, how do I fix it?
 
Look wether the ground wire is still attached - if not, let it fix asap.
It can be some small problem, but it can cause major harm - I heard real horror-storys about bad grounding with self-made guitars.

k, I just took the bridge off and took a peek. The ground wire is in place, as it should be; wrapped around the pole closest to the electronics. Would there be an alternative cause to this "Shocking" discovery? (Lol, excuse the pun)

Ok,sorry about the piss poor attempt at humour.
You need to actually test the ground wire,to see if it's actually grounded.There's alot of little places that wire runs that arent visible.If you have a multi-meter handy,test all the ground points.

I don't have a multimeter, but it if simply being connected isn't doing it, it's probably not grounded. So, am I supposed to replace the wire? I don't even know where the wire is in the rear cavity, lol.
 
If you open the cavity you should see the ground wire coming from a hole that goes under the bridge and it will be soldered onto one of the pots.

I am not sure I understand... You just had an electric shock?
It means that the bridge is grounded, because that's how the electricity got there.

You need to look for grounding issues at the electricity network. When you play the bass do no touch other things like microphones, or large metal stuff... Use a wireless and you are safe.

Haha, well, I do sit on a large metal stool, and my practice area is littered with wires. Maybe I need to do some adjustments, lol.


PS: I unlugged my bass, and it shocks me, even when my bass is unplugged. Could this be a battery issue?
 
A single 9 volt battery simply doesnt have enough juice in it to be able to shock you Trey.Unless,you put both terminals on your tongue,& then it's only a gently fizzle.
 
In that case, maybe you are shocking the bass!

Maybe it is a rubber carpet below you or something, and you charge with static electricity, and BZZZT!
 
Okay, I've figured it out, lol. Prepare to call me an idiot xD. Where the B string meets the bridge, there is a tiny little crevice, and every time I swipe my wrist over it, it grabs my arm hair and -- "@#$%!" It really feels like a shock, too! lol No wonder it didn't do it when I touched it with my fingers! Anywaaay, I fixed the problem by scooting the saddle over a little bit, haha.

Lol, looking back at my post, it does kind of give the impression that I'm a hairy squirrel man xD. Nah, I'm not that hairy, lol. I believe it's the average amount! Maybe I should've written "It grabs an arm hair and --". When I say, my arm hair, it sounds like I have some kind of a problem, lol. No manbearpig here!

So, we done talking about my body hair? Lol, it's wicked creepy.

lol awesome, i wanna see some pics of your hairy arms now Trey!
 
Warwick needs to include an epi-lady in the user manual,to prevent this.Also we'd all have the best kept bikini zones in the biz.
