Right I've had my Corvette for a while now but haven't actually posted anything so I thought I should share this cover which I made some time ago... I was quite excited so I made a couple of little camera angle experiments as well, they were recorded after without sound so the audio in the video goes along with the normal angle of course.

Audio goes through the EBS Microbass into an MP3 recorder.

Let me know what you think!

Not bad Glenn :-)

A suggestion - consider the note length. When you have those stops - BAM!!! You make them too short. The note has a beginning and an end.
It is very important where it starts, and also extremely important where it ends :-)

Pretty good, friend. That fat tone is close to Cliff's. Though, I like yours better.

Too bad you did play this to their faster live versions of the song, then Florin wouldn't have to criticize you! LOL! XD XD

Have you ever seen Youtubes's TengBurton play? That little Japanese guy can go wild on his Thumb, but it's more trying to be Cliff, than you are. You're having you're own kind of fun. Keep on rockin' with it!

And I loved the Bird's Eye View part.

Florin: I appreciate the criticism. But what stops do you mean? Could you say like a specific time of the video so I know where to improve?

lasteffect: Yeah the live version rocks but it really is soooo fast :D preferred to take it easy with this one for now ;) I know tengburton, that guy is mental!! Amazing bass player. But his tone is very very aggressive. Sounds awesome in the vids, I prefer to keep it a bit mellow like this though. And like you say, it's definitely important to do your own thing. So even in a cover I don't like to copy the person 100%

I found that making a video really is a good way of learning and proving everything you need for your playing. this drive for (what I considered at the time to be) perfection just doesn't really kick in when you sit in your room by yourself (I don't have a band atm unfortunately). So I hope I'll have the time to do some more over the summer...

this is really good. You have great tone, and you do a great job of not letting those hammer ons muddle the pace. No complaints here.

Those stops sound spot on to me. I know what Florin is trying to say, and it would work if it were accompanying a crash on the cymbals or toms. The stops are helping what we call in my band "stabs". It has to be spot on. It's a quick note to add body to cymbal stabs. If you were to let it ring it wouldn't work in this situation.

You've done a good job with that song dude.

Thanks for your compliments guys! But could you enlighten me as to what exactly you mean when you talk about the stops/stabs? Because I still don't have a clue :)

Greg I can tell you that it was Channel B and A together, tube sim was on, -10db was engaged, and the drive and edge settings seem about right. Don't really remember the Mid settings though to be fair, I played around with it a lot since I made this video. The next one I post I'll add some more detailed settings.

Sadly I'm gonna be without instruments for about 6 weeks now... :( Bad times!
