So i had a thought the other day.Since my SSII isn't going to get me the fretless i want i was thinking about swapping out the MEC pups and pre for Seymour Duncan pups and pre.I got a quote the other day for a new CS thumb fretless and it's not as much as i thought so I'm just going that route. But anyways is the SD swap aplug and play or would routing need to be done. alo which SD's pups and pre does warwick use? I thinking it's basslines but im not really a fan of the pole's since i dig in so hard
and it's a problem on my flaming blonde sometimes when i get excited  so what do you guys think?

title should say SSII can't edit it :(

I think you need to really take a close look at all the pickups & preamps SD make that are suited to your SS2. Warwick will install whatever SD pickups you like, but it's up to you to tell them which ones to use.
You have to decide between active & passive, alnico & ceramic. SD's website is very helpful & informative about each pickups characteristics.
Good luck man.

SEYMOUR DUNCAN AJB-5 Active 5-string and Seymour Duncan STC-3A 3 Band pre is what s on the warwick site and the ones I've been looking at but are they a direct replacement for the MEC's? or will i have to any rerouting

There's a used SSII with duncans for sale at a local music store's that's been sitting there for years. The preamp's been replaced with a 2-band, and for some reason the treble side of the bridge pickup is very far from the strings while the bass side isn't (throwing the balance WAY off). Unfortunately this means I can't give any advice on the tone, other than I didn't detect a huge difference to be honest (but then again the setup and the store was horrible). But I can say with some degree of certainty that no routing was done to the body.

They're a direct replacement. No re-routing required.
A very fine choice I might ad.
btw, I have a friend selling an STC-3A preamp that came out of his CS Streamer Jazzman if you're interested.
