While my band RECKON WITH ONE is still in bass pre-production we did a quick recording, one take, to get my ideas down for two of our songs. I wanna hear what you folks think. One of the tracks has vocals already, the other doesn't.

Any feedback is greatly appreciated.

Great job !!! The bass tracks sits well into the songs IMO !! and nice tone !! "Sonically" speaking, personnally I'll reamp or add just a little dirt: especially in the more heavy parts of the songs, with distorted guitar. I think it will blend the bass a little more for a wall of sound !! :)

Thank you! Yes the bass will be re-amped, its just a quick mix my singer did and this was all done in one track to just get my ideas down before we go into the actual recording. We're going to have Billy Sherwood (ex-Yes) to mix the album so I'm sure he'll bring in a lot of bass frontal mixes for us and with my Corvette $$ it will sound amazing.

Yes those $$ have a nice tone with a big fat bottom, yours already takes his place into the mix IMO !! The vocal is nice too, reminds me Ozzy a bit sometimes !!! lol Your going with the big name with an ex yes member, I like prog stuffs !! It's nice to hear some kind of music that breath a lot and doesn't rush the things...

Thanks and feel free to share more of how the things are going and evolving through your recording process. I find these thing interesting !!

Yeah man I'm really excited about having Billy work on our stuff. The guy really knows prog music and how to make it sound clear. I'm actually going to record my entire session, edit it and post it on my youtube page so anybody can look at it. I should have done the pre-production stuff.

Here is another quick take we did. I decided to throw in a bass solo over the guitar solo haha! I think it came out well. Also it was improvised as the producer told me as I was recording to write a bass solo over the part just before it came to that point. Came out pretty well, hopefully I can remember it.

Not Sure

Thanks! I'm really liking the way it is going. The singer, who also plays rhythm guitar, doesn't want simple bass lines so him and I have spent so much time crafting and trying to make something really cool. I think we've accomplished that. Now I'm really looking forward to writing the next album.

You too stupid?! Nah, nah man! Thanks for the kind words about the recordings! They where all just quick recordings to capture the ideas we have for bass parts. I will be doing the actual recordings starting in 2 weeks. That I'm really looking forward to.

Tornadic Part 2

This one I'm really proud of as it sounds like nothing I've done before and I've really pushed my playing and writing. Now that all the basslines for the album are done I'm eager to write the new album to see what new basslines I can come up with.
