Rig help..

When it comes to amps and cabs I'm completely clueless, so I've got a couple of questions...

If I was going to play through 2 cabs, do those cabs need to have the same # of Ohms? and do I have to add the wattage of both cabs to determine how powerful of a head I need?

Also, do more Ohms mean more power/more volume?

Any help on this is apreciated

It's quite the opposite. Ohms represent impedance... which is pretty much the amount of resistence that the speakers put against the power coming in from the amplifier. The higher the impedance, the lower the volume. If you want to use two cabs, I suggest getting 8ohms version so that when they are wired together (in parallel) they amunt to 4ohms only and you can drive the rig with with a 4ohms head (most of them are).

If you are thinking of going into Warwick Amps, I suggest getting a WCA 411 Pro + WCA 115 Pro + XTREME 10.1 or TubePath 10.1. Both of these heads deliver 1000 watts at 4ohms, and both cabs in 8ohms configurations when wired in parallel will amount to 4ohms impedance total, letting you use the full range of the head.

Thanks for that info, I knew I was off. After buying my first Warwick, I've been hooked and I dont think I'm going to play anything else. I'm definately going with a Warwick rig, and I'll look into your suggestion.
