Hello everyone. I realise this topic has been covered a little but I am new to this forum and need some advice.
I have just purchased a second hand Streamer LX. Got it for a great price but since receiving yesterday have attempted to adjust the truss rod and it seems to have a few issues.
1. When I insert the truss rod tool the hole must be stripped as the tool nearly gets no purchase, spinning in the hole without turning the truss rod.
2. Even if I use a little force and get some purchase the truss rod seems almost locked solid. It wont turn far either way and definitey not smoothly.
What am I to do. The bass doesn't play as I would like but it is a beautiful instrument and I did get a good deal. I really wanna keep it.
I think the neck may also have some small issues. Looking down the treble side the neck is nearly straight but looking down the bass side there is a noticeable relief bow.
Should I look into contacting Warwick for a replacement neck or try and get a luthier to look at it. There are very few where I live and the good ones are very expensive.
Also can anyone with experience in this matter give me an idea on the cost of replacing the neck?
Many thanks in advance for any help.
Jake.
