Replace inlay

Hi to all,

I have a corvette $$ custom "the tiger" and have a complex designed tiger made of nacre,

Is possible replace this ??? or cover it?

Could you post a picture of your bass neck, just so we can make sure we know what you mean.

I think the caat looks nice, so does the rest of the bass. I would try to sell it if I hated the caat.
My aa key gets stuck sometimes.

Now it seems that is not my style ...

Please dont tell me it's just the inlay.

It's an inlay.If ya like everything else about the bass,selling just coz of the inlay is,what's the word?Silly.

Whack a strip of tape over it.

you can have it replaced with a wood inlay (single piece) so it will be not to complex - a guitar repairman or a woodworker should be able to do it.

I estimate about 8-10 hours of work so approx. 500 Euros
-> replacing the whole fingerboard would be easier and much cheaper (approx 300 Eur)

Wow 500 euros !!! very expensive!.
I think covering it with some material will be cheaper...

No one has done?
 
Yeah you could buy a new bass for that much :)
 
man that inlay is coooool, i would keep it.

If not, just grab a pot of black paint and a nice artist brush

Don't hold me responsible for the results though ;)
 
After some thought, I'll stay with "my tiger".

Some things look better on the stage. I think the cat might look cheesy when you look close, but it can be nice seen from the audience. Different perspective, you know?
