Relocating....

Long story short, my wife and I are moving this week from
the beautiful coast to the inner valley area of California.

Not the most desirable place to live, but it's very affordable
and we will be making considerably more money than we are
now. We should be able to save up a good deal of money.

For what we pay now for a 1 bedroom flat, we are getting a
3 bedroom, 2 bathroom house with a garage and yard.
I'll be getting my own man-cave/music room which I'm
quite excited about, and the garage will finally let me do
some proper work on my car.

That said, I'm also a bit excited to find some new people to
play music with when we arrive.

I haven't busted out the "big" rig of mine in almost two months
since the band broke it off, so I'm excited to get it back into action.

Santa Barbara looks like a beautiful place to live, my wife and I have been investigating a move there. We live in a beautiful coastal town in England, but there are no jobs/money there, and we were wondering if is the same there. You know what they say " a view of the bay is worth half the pay ".

Anyways, It sounds like you guys have a good plan with new jobs with better pay and a lowered budget. I hope the best for yall, and hopefully you will move back to the coast one day.

The coast is nice, but it's too soon to say if I will really miss it.
I think I'll be okay being close to the mountains instead.
Santa Barbara is beautiful, but unless you take advantage of all that it has to
offer, then there are better alternatives. One big plus I have noticed
immediately is how much nicer people are here in Clovis.
Our neighbors are friendly and people around town are down to earth
and less concerned about their image.

So all in all, 4 days in, so far so good. Not quite used to the no job thing yet,
and don't plan on it for much longer. I've got my amp/cabs right next to my desk,
and plan on running the direct out from my pre into my recording interface.
I need to finish getting some hangers on the wall for some non Warwicks,
and get everything all wired up. Eventually I'll find some people to play with,
but I think a job is a bit more of a concern for now.
