Recording questions?

Cheers: Is anyone familiar with Cubase LE 4? It comes with the Zoom B9.1UT. I am going to start recording a CD and want to begin with Drum Tracks followed by My bass tracks. I really want to get a good discussion going about the best methods of recording using a PC.

There is plenty of debate/discussion all over the internet about this topic.Cubase, Ableton, Pro Tools, Sonar, garage Band, etc.... all will record bass and make drum tracks. the difference comes in each ones price, features, user interface, etc.

the interface you mentioned with Cubase should be fine for getting a recording going. I have used Live, Sonar, and a limited amount of Pro Tools ans Garage Band, they are all good for different reasons, but the easiest to manage interface while still being powerful is Live.
 
On PC I used to use one of those earlier Cubases. Now that I got Mac and got a new soundcard I gave a shot for this Reaper REAPER | Audio Production Without Limits. I'm not saying it's the easiest to learn but what is? It took me two long days until I got the hang of it. The best part of it is that it does all the essential things Cubase does. It lacks some features that come with the newest Cubase and Pro-Tools but nothing I couldn't live without. It supports VST-instruments so the possibilities are practically endless. And after the 30-days-trial, it costs 40 dollars :P
