RB Corvette gets it's first proper outing.

Hi all

Used my RB Corvette Active 4 for the first time yesterday at a jam night, and hand on heart, i have to say it was great sounding, cut through really well (through a pretty much flat eq'd Ashdown head and 4x10) and drew compliments from some guitarists that were there. There was a mixture of rock and blues played, and i found leaving the blend in the middle, volume on full, and the bass and treble boosted slightly gave a one size fits all sound for finger work and a little bit of cheeky slapping.

Well impressed, and that's in comparison to many of the pricey basses i've owned.

Need to save for the 5 string version now.

Good to hear, I've just order the 5 string version, look forward to playing it.
 
I Was looking for a 5 string however wasnt sure how i was going to take to it (1st 5 string) Wanted a corvette aswell so thought id try out the rock bass. Bought it and like you more than happy with it. Thought i wondered how the 4 string variant would compare to my other 2 4 strings so bought another rock bass and was again impressed!

So much so that i dont look and anything other than Warwick corvettes and the odd streamer and my other 2 basses rarely ever get played anymore!

Think they get a lot of bad press from it being "just a rock bass" however for the price you can pick them up for there freeking awesome!

Would love a $$ one day but no one really stocks a decent selection of warwicks in England close by.

Agree about the stockists Harry, i went to Denmark Street a week or so ago and they only have a few overpriced RB's and a bunch of £1500 plus W's.

Price wise they are unbeatable in my experience, so much so that i'm reckoning ordering the 5'er from Thomann next month.

Sounds wise, it really is a cracker and spoke to one of the guitarists i played with the other night again today and he commented on how good the RB sounded. I'm too old (and poor!) to be a label snob bass wise, so it's RB's for me for a while at least!

To right! there pricey to say the least in shops on the street!

5 strings are awesome! I thought the string spacing would be a bit of a nightmare, But turns out its better :D I Think my warwicks are 04 and 06, And havent had chance to try the new ones but i cant imagine them making a decent product worse.
 
I've had my five string for a few days. I'm loving it, the tone, the feel, its just awesome. All I need now is an amp good enough for it.
