Hi - I'm wondering what the best practice is for raising all four strings a bit. Better to raise the individual saddles or the entire bridge slightly? Does raising the saddles affect the tone, sustain, etc, since each saddle sits on two adjustable posts (right now I have them set flat to the bottom)? Likewise, does raising the bridge affect tone/sustain, causing less resonation through the body? Thanks very much.

There's a great instructional video on warwick.de on setting up your bridge. I suggest you check that out.

I also found that the video shows the BEST way to set up your wicks. There are a few others there too that show different thing, all very good advice.

Like the video indicates, individual saddle pieces are used to set the strings' radius. Bridge height determines string height, that is action. If the saddle pieces are set up ok for the radius, I would suggest raising them only if they are so low that the non speaking part of the string touches the saddle piece socket. :-)

Great advice. The Warwick videos were outstanding, thanks everyone.

Also its much easier to raise the entire bridge if all the saddles need raising. That way your radius is maintianed.

the strings should not touch the bridge, so they need to touch the saddle, and the tailpiece. So normally you need to raise the whole bridge, but if the strings start touching the bridge, you need to raise the saddles.

Cheers,
Flo
