R.I.P. Ronnie James Dio

i read a post on another site thank said what kind of a world do we live in when ozzy out llivs dio.i'm kicking myself that i missed his last tour i just didn't think he would pass away so soon.he was like the energizer bunny of metal.i missed metallica with cliff i could have went to a show before he went over to europe but i said to mtself i'll catch him when they come around again.i didn't learn from my mistake.if you ever want to see somebody preform and you get the chance take it who knows what might happen.man i'm going to miss dio my first album was holy diver back in high school. the brothers used to give my and my freinds after school detention for wearing the tee shirt to school or having the record in school.ah all the black boards i had to wash for that.
 
I went to school in the town he grew up in, Cortland, NY. I'll be going there in a few weeks to finish my full sleeve. I'll try to get a picture of the street named after him, Dio Way.
 
I don't remember ever reading or hearing anything negative about RJD from anyone who knew him. There were always words like "nice", "classy", "genuine", etc. used.

Great singer and evidently a wonderful, warm human, he will be missed. RIP Ronnie.
 
I woke up with tears in my eyes today, when the reality had sunk in. I don't listen to metal/hardrock much anymore, but two albums I always return to regularly are Heaven and Hell and Rising.

I still can't believe it... :(
 
i just watched him on that metal show talk about how he did every thing for the fans and how ritchie black moore showed him how not to treat your fans he was a real class act

How do you mean that about Blackmore?
 
I had the ultimate pleasure of meeting Ronnie James Dio backstage at an AC/DC concert in the mid 80's. Dio was the opening act. Ronnie James Dio was the nicest man ever. He was so quiet and polite. He even signed my dinner napkin which I still have to this very day. I feel for his family, his friends and his fans.

One of my favorite recordings that Ronnie James Dio was ever involved with was the charitable Hear N' Aid song, "We're Stars". The song was recorded back in 1986 and featured an amazing roster of artists/musicians. The video below of the original recording is eerie now in how it opens with Ronnie James Dio's beautiful voice and closes with his image slowly fading away. RIP, Ronnie...

RIP, Dio was one of the biggest influence in Metal. He almost single handedly created power metal, that's no small task.
