I've recently purchased one of your awesome Quad IV heads and it's been absolutely great! Recently it's developed a fault that I need some advice about as I have a gig in 2 weeks time
When the machine is powered on the 'mute' button does not illuminate green, it is initially red but then blinks off. The blue LEDs on the front of the head still work normally when their corresponding buttons are depressed as does the actual mute function (which makes the LED red as it should) and these are the only visial indications that the head is functioning. No green power LED.
The main problem is that that even with the gain set down to as low as '3' and just my active ESP F-404 bass playing the red 'Limit' LED flashes frequently and then after not even a minute of playing the head cuts off with the 'mute' LED illuminated red. The only way out of this state is to power off the unit - pressing the 'mute' button in and out does nothing. The unit's fuse itself is intact (swapped it out just in case) but the head has blown the fuses in two plugs one after the other since I noticed this problem this week.
I hope this is a minor fault and/or is easily rectifiable as this is a great bit of kit that I need working pretty quickly!(

Warwick Quad IV
- No green power LED when powered on
- Blue EQ & red mute functions/LEDs work fine
- Easily hits the limiter with low gain set
- Cuts out with the red mute LED illuminated after less than a minute of hard playing
- Blown two plug fuses

After looking at the circuit diagram of my head I think it's the power amp that's knackered but I don't know how or why
My Uncle used to work on amplifiers and after going over the specs of my Quad IV 400w head compared to my 211 Pro 2x10 cab and I've noticed that the output from teh Quad is 4ohms while the impedence of the cab is 8ohms!? He suggested that the resistance of the cab may be too high for the head (I only play through that one cab ATM not two - how would that affect the ohm-type-stuff?) and that it's busted something?
4ohms out vs 8ohms cab? I thought this kit is designed to be used together?
