I bought a Profet 5.1 & have a 411 Pro cab in 4 ohms on order.I've been thinking maybe I should get the 411 cab in 8 ohms & ad a 115 cab later to get the full 500 watts out of my Profet. My question is will the combined power handling of the 2 cabs (1000 watts) be underpowered by the Profet 5.1?I'm guessing a 1000 watt amp would be better suited to these cabs.Whattayaz reckon?

From what I understand, sunning a 500W watt amp in 1000W cabs is very fine, and it will be quite a bit louder than with only one cab...

Go for it, you can always get a more powerful head in the future if you really need the extra power... 500W of amp is already pretty loud!

take into mind you'll still be getting the fulf range of the amp with the single 4ohm 411 cab

You're right Mr. Stroud. The 411 is a 600 Watts cabinet, which in 4 ohms version, is perfect for a 500 Watts amplifier. Adding the 115 to the combination will add another 400 Watts to equation that will need another variable to be solved, in this case that variable would definitely be an amp with a higher power rating.

Thanks Oliver,I just needed reassuring.I'm getting the 411 in 4 ohms to get the full 500 watts,I just gotta stop changing my damned mind.
