Possible problem with my bridge

hi everyone, new user here (actually first post, i'll finnaly get rid of the nagging notice... )

i just recently bought a Corvette $$, couldn't be happier with it. It definitly live to the "hype". tonal possibilities are awesome (still strugling a bit to be honnest, but i'm getting very nice results...)

Mine was in the shop for a couple of month, and especially since our winter is kinda harsh this year in canada, the setup has moved a bit. i played with the trustrod (geeee what a pleasure it is with this system!) and since my action was still a bit high for my taste, i took a look at my bridge.

here's the interesting bit: i've noticed the bridge is made by two parts (well, more than 2, but you'll get what i'm saying) on top of each other. you unlock the two screws and should be able to go higher or lower. the base part seem to be inside the body. but it look like the hole is very, very tight. i can pass a piece of paper all around but on top where it look like the bridge touch the wood.

could this be a problem? should i (or a pro ) remove the strings and move the bridge slightly lower? what should i do? oh, and do any of this make sense!? should i post a picture?

welcome to the forum. To be honest, I didn't get the question.:x You can't lower the upper part of the bridge because the hole is too tight ??
Maybe a picture would indeed explain better. Cheers man.

To adjust the height of the bridge (as opposed to the anchor)
you need to loosen the two larger hex screws, then either back
out, or tighten the other four, one located in each corner.

Doing one without the other, will achieve no difference.

it's basicaly that yeah, looks like my bridge rubs against the side of the hole... i've uploaded a picture in my album (terrible, terrible quality, but still...)

Ah, I think I see what you mean.

You think it looks like it's too tight of a fit?

Mine looks just the same. Not much of a gap at all,
you should be fine with what you have man.

Welcome to the forum Argh

First of all be sure you still have a gap between the base part and the top part.
The bridge looks normal from your picture, you don't have to worry about that

But I've noticed that the saddles are probably a little too high, especially if you want a lower action.
Also the strings are not straight over the bridge, B and E are rounded. You need to press them down with something tough like a lighter, or a pen. Even with your fingers... Do the same on the nut too. You will already have a lower action after you do this
