Oh yes indeed..........

The Warwick sound is making me play stuff both aggressively and smoothly. No way I was able to play aggressive stuff on my Yamaha; it sounds oh so mellow................. :D
 
Oh god yes. Although my Musicmaster greatly influenced me, I never get sick of playing my proline unlike every other bass ive ever played. Its made me way more passionate about playing, its given me superior tone for any situation, given me the pleasure of owning my first "professional" bass and made me far more articulate and self aware. Warwick- You rock my goddamn world!
 
It has definantly improved my playing... I could never make slap bass sound so good without my thumb :)
 
When I got my Vette st. The tone, elegance and pricetag made me feel like I had a responsibility to bring my skills up to the level of the instrument. Like when I take one to a music store or jam session I get a lot of "oh, a Warwick huh? I aint f***in with you" and then they wait to hear something miraculous :shock: . So even when it's realized that I'm just an average player I still get compliments on my tone. When better players try my bass it makes me want to work harder to maximize it's potential. I've seen my basses do some sick,sick things in the hands of a monster player. So I'll say yes, owning a Warwick makes me want to be better if that counts. :wink:
 
Warwick made me a much better sounding bassplayer.
I play a lot of basses in the shops in my area, trying for many years now to defeat my Thumb ... NO WAY !
Nothing like the Thumb ! Still in love after all these years, I couldn't be happier :D
 
After i got my Warwick my playing seemed to improve exponentially, but that could also be the fact that it was such a pleasure to play thus my practice time was also increasing from say an hour or so to well over 5 :shock:

So yeh getting my Warwick helped to improve my playing and fully awaken my love for bass.
 
without wven owning a warwick, it was warwick that turned my vies to bass played from just a passtime into a passion, and something i want to do for a living.

we'll just have to see now whether owning a warwick makes me improve at the speed of light :wink: i've got a feeling it might :wink:
 
Owning a good quality bass can give you a better understanding of sound, and technique IMHO.
I have learned something new with every bass I've owned, and I've decided to stay with warwick.

Hmm, I don't really know, because these 5 strings still give me trouble :oops: it's my first 5er...
But my sound improved very much :wink:
 
I'm not at all surprised at the results of this poll (so far). Owning Warwick basses has made a huge difference to me.

However... maybe it's something to do with the people who buy these basses... I think a lot of us have tried the usual suspects and decided we want something a bit different (maybe by having fave Bassists who also play Warwicks). Leaving aside all other factors (like the looks, the playability), I've found the tone I want, and I'm not letting it go!
 
I think the result also depends on your bass history.

Prior to owning a Warwick, I only played a Yamaha for three years, and the step from going to my first almost arbitrary bass to Warwick was huge. In my case, the Warwick helped a lot in improving my skills. On the contrary, if one has played many other highend basses for twenty years or so, then playing a different bass, Warwick in this case, is not going to improve your skills that much I think.
 
Warwick has helped me find the sound I want, and of course helped with my fretless playing being that it is my first. But I'm fairly certain that my Yamaha provided at very tough foundation for my playing and my style, the $$ just improves it...
 
I moved from a Musicman Stingray to my Thumb about two months ago and it seems that my style and the way i play has changed. The bass kind of pulls you in to playing it to the style it is best suited. I hardly ever use a pick now and tap 'n slap loads more. I am really enjoying this bass and i sometimes think that if i had one of these years ago i would be a better player. Im not saying that Rays are not any good of course! :wink: I would still have another if i could afford one.
 
My Thumb has really helped me, and before that even my Rockbass Vette helped me. The tone makes me want to practice more (especially on the Thumb, i can play on that bass forever) and since i've moved up to the Thumb, everything i play sounds better and cleaner. i thought i played kinda sloppy before but my Thumb has cleared most of that up. :D

Next on the list, a Dirty Blonde LTD!!! :twisted:
