Hey everyone!!! I am new to warwick and new to bass in general so I could use an expert here. I just bought a infinity sn tcs 5 string from a local musician in town. I decided to research the bass' serial number but it seems like there is not enough numbers. its like the last two were not stamped in heavy enough. I am worried this may be a fake. PLEASE HELP/

the serial that is readable is j-10995 then it looks as if there is a / ( i dont think it is a 7) and then nothing else. I tried placing every combo of extra number in the generator but to no avail. any help is appreciated. I am trying to lad some pics but need to see the rules on that first.

It looks pretty damn real to me. Very nice bass BTW! it looks like the serial no is missing the last two number and a dash, the ones that denote the dat of manufacture.
As far as specs you have a zebrano body with chambers in the top half of the body and a sliver of walnut between the body halves. (tap on the back of the body where your right arm sits and you should hear the difference.) Ovnagkol neck with a wenge fingerboard, active J /TJ pups and i think a MEC 2-band preamp.

It looks pretty real. the woods and the body carving are what makes these babies expensive, and you really cant fake that. If you are still worried email warwick's customer support. details on the website
 
Thanks for the reply Augie. I mean she feels good and looks good and I have no other suspect qualities about her other than the numbers. I wonder if this could be a manufacturing oversight or if those two just happened to fade over time. Idk I will be contacting customer support just to ease my mind. But if its a fake then I cant imagine how good a true warwick would feels and sound.

There are instructions on the website of the pics they need and details they want. i think sometimes the serial are just not stamped well more than worn out. its probably not very old. i think all the SN TCS modes came out in the 2000s (my dolphin SN is 05, and i have seen others form the sort of 00-06 period)

Well its good to hear. I was definitely a bit nervous, but like I said, even if it was fake, the sound and feel are amazing. I guess it will be hard to impossible to date? I know there was a short tenure these were made in but id like to know if possible. And also I have been looking at the woods and im having a hard time figuring out if its oiled or not??? Told ya I was a warwick neewbie. Thanks for the help and for the welcome into this forum..

It is impossible to date without the last two digits of the serial number...

Probably the bass it is oiled, and it is easy to check it. If it is oil finish, the wood will want to absorb any oil or water you will put on it. So just put your finger in your mouth, and rub it somewhere on the back of the bass :-) You will see for your self if the bass will absorb the humidity or not :-)

Well i took that slash I was talking about behind the last 5 and decided it could be a six then on the last two numbers i went from 00, 01, 02 until I got to 04 and the number registered. j-109956-04 and it came up. due tothe close spacing of the "slash to the 5 i decided it had to be a six. so it is naturally oiled. Any idea of the value of this bass? and again thanks everyone for the help..

well they are only availabale through the custom shop nowadays (discontinued model). I'd say they are worth
about the same as a thumb 5 nt or stage 1 5.
 
I have one just like yours and I can teel it is not a fake. Infinity SN is a hell of a bass, hope you enjoy it, I sure do enjoy mine.

beautiful Infinity, I've seen & held one just like that my teacher was fixing, it is one hell of a bass. (this was before I had my Corvette)
glad the mystery was solved too....enjoy that baby.
