Piecing together my bass FX board - signal path okay?

Right. I finally think I now have all the FX I could ever need and am piecing together my pedal board...



Notice: I left the big muff out, it sounds rather crap IMO and replaced it with a bass distortion (I prefer dist over fuzz).

I am thinking of hooking everything up counter clockwise starting with the POG and ending with the Headrush II.

This would make the signal path: brain -> fingers -> wick -> preamp -> octaver (up and/or down!) -> envelope filter (autowah) -> distortion+EQ -> dualband compressor -> tremolo -> phaser -> chorus -> reverb -> delay -> poweramp -> cab -> room -> audience.

My amp does have an effects loop so I think I should hook up the fx in there. The preamp has an overdrive channel of its own as well. If I don't like the result I'll just chain it up between the bass and instrument input of the amp OR put the bottom row in between bass and amp and the top row in the fx loop of the amp.

Is this a good idea or should I change bits around in your opinion?

I know there have been threads about this subject in the past but couldn't find it anymore and forgot what was said back then (but do know Florin had some good remarks). The search function on this forum is a mess tbh (no pun intended).

I am mostly clueless about pedals, but I think I would place the compressor before the overdrive so that it makes the overdrive clip more evenly...

i say take tap dancing lessons for all those pedals ha ha i don't use anything so i can't be of any use.but it looks cool good luck with it.

The only constructive advice I have Marco, is to avoid putting pedals in the amp's effects loop. I've heard from a good source, (IE Flo) the loop is intended for rack based effects, & pedals should go the other way. Something to do with their levels being different.
