I'm selling a bass and was wondering that once the funds are posted in paypal they cannot be reversed. Is this true?

My concern would be that the person used a stolen credit card and then once it was discover I would lose my money. Im thinking worst case, but I'm sure the guy is trustworthy. The sale isn't thru ebay so he has more to lose than me if I didn't send so I'm sure he is stressed more. We are exchanging home addresses and phone numbers and work numbers and such. i will be ground shipping to his apartment. I'm going to try and call the apartment place to make sure he is a tenate. The reason I'm be so cautious is I already had my credit card # stolen and stuff shipped to an apartment which I guess theives do. It may be a vacant one and they wait out front for the package which they did in my case.

you should ship only to the adress registered with paypal.

I do not know about reversing a paypal payment but I think it cannot be done.

I once sent a wrong amount to a seller and couldn't correct it myself.
I got a refund and then had to send the money again:-)

My brother once sold a computer to the UK. The guy paid by Paypal, and my brother shipped it.

The guys claims never to have received it, and requested a refund of his money from Paypal. Paypal refunded his money no questions asked, and would not even discuss it with my brother, who was out of pocket the computer, and the money.

Paypal do have refund policies that are geared more towards favouring the buyer than sellers. Be careful. If the buyer is dodgy, Paypal may operate in his favour.

Be sure to use a shipping option that proves personal delivery to the buyer at the very least.

mmh

if you use trackable shipping this would not have been a problem

This is true, but you must make sure it's traceable shipping that will only deliver to the recipient with proof of ID and a signature on delivery as receipt of goods.

;)

Yeah, I'm shipping UPS insured. I got his work email and phone, etc. He works for Texas Instruments so it appears he should be solid. Already paid per paypal.
