hi all,
since ive had my fna jazzman my Rb vette has been sulking in the corner, but yesterday i picked her up and had a play, i noticed just how much hum i get from the pickups (its passive, connected to the 0db input on my ampeg micro cl) compared to the active electronics and humbucking pickups in the jazzman.
so, has anybody upgraded the pickups to humbucking types, and if so, how easy? what brand? how effective?

thanks

EMGs are usually supplied with plug in wiring so are a doddle to install. The only soldering you will need to do is the jack socket.
I fitted a P/J set in my Fortress and it was easy.

hi, thanks all.
i think the emg set looks like a good option, my bass is a lefty so i need to be sure that the wiring loom is of sufficient length.

The leads that came with my P/J set were more then long enough,I actually routed them around the edge of the electrics cavity to loose the slack.I wouldn't think it would make a difference which way you mounted EMG Js,but I have to admit I've never mounted them in a lefty.
It might be worth checking with EMG technical about cable lengths etc.I have contacted them before and they were very helpful.

I have emailed emg tech support, i can get next day delivery for 129 from GAK online, but a mate who works at a store and gets discount is pricing up for me.
Thanks all.
