Hello, forum friends!

I am so happy, I want to share this with you :-)

One month ago I was called by a Romanian band called Partizan, and I joined them. The story goes back to 1983, when 3 guys started a band called Timpuri Noi (new times) They were banned a few years later by the communist regime, because of the satyrical anti Communist lyrics.
After 1990, they started to play again, and in the mid 90's they where the No 1 rock band in my country, the only Romanian band that I was realy a huge fan. Crazy guys, a lot of humour in their lyrics, and a anti rockstar lead singer that is not from our planet :-)

I even sent them a letter (no email at that time) with a picture of mine and a tape, just in case. They never replied to me...
In 2001 (5 years later) they called me for an unplugged version of their show. I simply couldn't believe it, to play on the same stage with my idols! I became friend with the drummer - Catalin "Tobi" Neagu, so he recommended me to the band.

He was one of my dearest friends, he died a coupe of months ago b heart attack... I was shocked...

Anyway, in the band at that time where 2 of the founding members, and one of them, the guitarist decided to leave the band. We continued to play, but we changed the name to Partizan, after another founding member returned home, with a fresh vibe.
The effort to start a new band, with new songs, was too much, I left the band at the end of 2001 together with the drummer, after only 5 concerts with the new songs.
So here I am again again in my band :-)
tonight it my new concert, so wish me luck! Oh, I started to play with a pick for them.

That is great news! I was kinda worried about you when you pulled out of the music scene a year or two back, so it's really good to hear how much you're back into it! :)

OFF TOPIC:
Flo, I´ve seen in you pedalboard one (two?) EHX Black Finger compressor. Could you give me your impressions about that pedal. Is it THAT noisy as people say? Thanx.

I have a English Muff'n, and a Black finger. I think I'll sell the finger, since I am not really using it...
I have tested and played it only live, and I havn't noticed the noise... My bass is quiet however, I am not sure how it acts with a noisy bass.

An English muffing, right, it has the same enclosure as the "Finger". ;)

I may get one in the future, looks like a nice compressor. Thanx for the comments.
 
Damn, I really wish I could understand Romanian right now =/ Such a nice sounding language.

But anyways. Florin, I wish you and your band the best for the future. Keep it up dude =)
 
Thanks guys, I am back from the souncheck, a little bit nervous :-)

@J.S.E. The lyrics are usually very funny, like when we wrote them we were on the floor laughing :-)
@ Neil, It seems I cannot use other bass than the XBass. It is simply too good...
