Hello, we recorded a demo with the cover band I play in, well, for demonstration purposes to get more gigs. I thought I 'd post
the three english speaking clips we recorded, the songs are very well known. It was recorded live except for the voice and a few
guitar parts, then we did some basic mixing. In recording this I bypassed the onboard preamp, then into an Ibanez PD7 for dirt and
its nice bast boost, then in my Aguilar Tone Hammer for thickness then direct recording. I will let you guess if it was my Streamer
or the RB Corvette ;). I 'd love to hear your comments on tone, mixing levels, playing, whatever...

(the download speed might be a little slow, as the files are on my pc)

EDIT: megaupload links

Sounds kewl Jester... I ain't got much time atm...:(
But after da weekend I'm certainly gonna give this 'a closer look/listen'....8:

awesome recordings! I like how you and your band made the songs your own instead of making a carbon copy of the songs. AWESOME JOB!

Thanks Trey, although my main complaint with these is that I think we play them too much like the originals.
But, hey, we 're a cover band, that's what we do... ;)

As promised, this morning I took some more time to listen to your demo....8:

Let me start by saying that I´m no expert on recording and stuff... and I really don´t have a clue whether you used Da Streamer or Da RB Corvette either... Besides that, I always have problems with finding the right words in English, so I hope you don´t take my opinion too seriously...;)

About da Bass: basic, no (unnecessary ?) tricks, flawless, into da groove... really like da grungy effect you used !! :d

Really not a fan of da modulation effect the geetard player uses...besides that I think he should use (far) more overdrive-distortion, whatevah... it sounds a bit too clean imho...:(

If I was a club owner in Athens I´d say:.. `hire these guys`...8:

I listened to Teen Spirit and WooHoo.. First of all, nice recording on both - the sound quality is really good. I like the bass overdrive on Teen Spirit, there's just enough and it suits the song well. The playing is solid all around, the whole band sounds good together.

Now, if you want the "picky" review:

There are only a few things I noticed.. First, the guitar is a bit sterile to me... The overdrive is overdriven, but not really thick - it needs some 'ass' in general, some added punch and gain. You know, that sound where it sounds like the amplifier is about to catch fire. :) The clean is very clean, but missing something too - that 'je ne sais quois'. Is the guitarist using a modeler or maybe a solid state amp? If not, and it sounds great live in the room, maybe a different mic or mic placement would help. The playing is good, but the tone is a little 'meh'.

The only other things that really stood out to me on the first listen are a few flat spots in the main vocal on Teen Spirit.. For example, around 1:01-1:04, it goes a little blue toward the end.

Overall, I agree with DaVonk - I'd say "hire these guys". Definitely good overall, and I'm pretty sure you'll have not trouble landing gigs!

This we recorded last night. Unfortunately my tone lacks lows because of the dirt pedal I used. Most unfortunate because the guitars are huge. I realized I still suck at pick style. For live it is passable, not for studio. Don't expect any artistic interventions here, we tried to stick to the original... Lenny for you:

Nice playing not loving the bass and guitar sounds, but for a cover band demo it´s enough.

Thats a great demo mate. Your new singer is very good and the band sounds nice and tight!

The megaupload link for Killing in the Name says its "temporarily unavailable" but I listen to the others and they are really good clean covers, Nice work!
