Hey all!
I haven't been on this site in quite some time...(roomate payment problems...basically our internet got shut off and I'm not bothering getting something set back up until I move out in July)

Anyways, without internet and such I've been putting all my time and energy outside of school into my project with my guitarist.

Over the past few months we have taught my brother two of our songs for him to play drums to. We recorded these two songs yesterday at my friend's studio!

I play a warwick rockbass corvette in these recordings... a few months ago I brought this beauty of a bass into a local guitar shop and got new strings and it all fixed up. (I was recently was in a guitar shop and saw a used corvette for only 600! There were some nicks and dings on it but I think after I get a new half stack a real Warwick is the way to go!

Here are the tracks! Let me know what you think!

The band name is pronounced Zur-ust

Heheh...sounds great Connor 8:
really enjoyed listening...Sunset Alaska is definetely my favourite of the two

But erm...about da name of da band...
I'm Dutch (from da Netherlands ) and imho 'Zeerust' is a Dutch word...
Here it's pronounced as 'say-rust' and it means something like serenity or calmness of/at da sea....
Da funny thing is that they use da name Zeerust here on (bigger) houses , or hotels that were
built close to the beach or in da dunes....I Googled da name here and da first 10 options were
several different restaurants, tourist appartment buildings and hotels from several different places
along our coast line...Da name more or less implies that da people/tourists who stay in these
houses/hotels enjoy da nearness (and da serenity) of da sea...
Now I dunno of course if my explanation has anything to do with da reason why ya called your band
Zeerust, but imho it really suits da musical style of your band...;)

hahaha!

well thank you!

about the name:
I originally came up with sunset alaska as being the band name, but my guitarist wasn't really feeling it.

we talked about it for a few days and tried coming up with something else we both felt 100% about
zeerust came up and we both liked it after coming up with a few others that didn't ring the way we wanted it to.
he says zeerust a term that means "retro future". He can explain it better than I but it relates back to movies that were made to show how the future will look according to the present (like how we were all afraid of technology advancing and robots replacing us ect..)
hopefully that makes sense...
