haha that's the exact mod i'm gonna do to my jazzbass :D i bought a fretless neck on ebay, and i'm trying to find a way to recess the bridge like that without spending a lot of money :?
 
Someone just ruined a perfectly good warwick bridge! :shock:
 
Damn! See why Warwick limits what's available to the public?! I see the Fender bridge replaced all the time , usually with a "Bada**" bridge". I like Fender and Warwick...but not together.
 
It actually doesn't look too bad, really. I also have one of those MIM Fender J-bass fretless' and I've been thinking about a bridge replacement since I bought it - though I wouldn't have done what that guy did. However, the strings do line up well with the edges of the fretboard and won't slide around like they do on the crappy stock bridge those basses come with... :roll: ~M~
 
Looks like they've done a good job, except for having to fill the old screw holes... with screws!!! ... looks like some top-secret new-style pickup!

I've got a thing about bridges, replaced the bridge on my P-bass with a hipshot bridge.... no complaints about warwick bridges though!
 
bridge looks ok...i just really dislike that finish on the bass :) would be interesting to hear what its like....even better would be pre and then post clips.
 
Fender Mexican = POS. They are the worst. The US made are okay, the Japanese made are okay, the rest are only worthy of the dump bin.
Remember, you can't polish a turd.
 
I dunno... maybe one out of twenty of the MIM's are decent once you set it up right and clean up the amateur fretwork. They do make a marginally good starter bass, NOT as good as a Rockbass by a long shot tho :D . Polishing turds...? You don't work in the aviation field by any chance, do you? That's one of our favourite one-liners when we get in a plane that's ate up with corrosion or otherwise not worth the trouble of trying to fix :lol: . ~M~
 
The brides have always been Fender instruments' Achilles Heel. I mean, come on guys, a folded piece of metal as a bridge designed in 1951? Almost always the first thing to be replaced anyway.

I love the Jazz sound, but replacing it with a Warwick bridge strikes me as distinctly pointless.

I work in an ER, but Hill Airforce Base is very close. I got the term from the film Christine, Darnell is great. As for Mexican Fender quality. When I lived in Houston Mars Music had a bin full of Fender necks for 5 bucks each. I thought it might be fun to build a guit, but not 1 neck was usable. They were all necks that Mars had to replace before they could sell the brand new guitars. They were all made in Mexico.
