Well to keep this on topic: I wanted to ask if anyone here has a tremolo from the Custom Shop. Sorry to cross post from the Warwick Bass subforum here, but I'm trying to get as many angles as possible. I want to order a Dolphin SN, but I'm going to install a Kahler in my Streamer STD first to see if I even like the trem. Its so hard to find a Dolphin SN, because when they pop up they're tiehr $1500 or $2500 and sell immediately when I don't have the money, that I'd rather save up for my own CS.
Anyway
Kahler CS advised me that I should use a lubricant on a brass nut, and that I do not need locking tuners or nut with their 7 series tremolos. While I was on the phone I couldn't for the life of me understand the name of the lube because we must have had a bad connection.
This is also why I don't want to call the Warwick NYC Custom Shop up: my phone is old (not even my phone plan) and it'd be really a poor use of their time to call them every other time I have a random dream. So I'm asking people here.
So, I'm going to use a self-lubricating teflon nut with my Kahler exploration. I'm a mission to find a balance of tone, and when I'm done I'm ordering a CS. I'm probably going to mutilate a ton of pre-owned Warwicks in the process, but it'll even out of WAAAAY less than the cost of one Custom Shop and deciding I don't like it.
