Here's a couple of pics of my '66 Sorella. Love this guitar.

It was dusty and in dire need of new strings and contact cleaner for the pots and switches, and a good all around wipe down. That done, she's a beauty. I did fill in a hole where a previous owner used a fat sheet metal screw to hold one of the pickguard mounts. You can barely see the repair. And it sounds damned fine, plugged or not.
 
So you have a pot (probably volume), a 3 way switch and a 2 way switch. Can you tell me what are they doing? Mr Hansal (MEC Pickups now) was crazy with the electronics, he even had Wah Wah mounted on the guitar back then.
 
The two way switch is like a volume cut/boost, or rythm/lead. Says M-R. (Main-Rythm?) The other is a 4 way. Says B-(bass cut), T+B+ (Full treble and bass), T+B- (more bass than other two), and T- (Really bassy). The first two positions are really usable, the other two are too much bass, especially T-. But I guess back in the day the idea was you could use this guitar instead of a bass. Love how the volume knob goes to 8. After a lifetime of Fenders, Gibsons, shredders and clones, this guitar is something totally new for me. Really original, inspiring really.
