Old 80's Streamers with the one-piece bridge.

Readers of my recent posts will know that I've got what I consider THE Streamer - a 90's SS1 - but I've had a spontaneous punt on an 87 model with the wenge neck / maple stringers, EMG's and the one-piece bridge.

Should be with me late next week I hope. Anyone own a similar model?

It's a great bass, IMHO batter sounding than your all maple 90's.

Maple Streamers with the one piece bridge are very rare, usually they stil have the Cherry wood :idea:

Just had an email from Hans Peter:

The Neck / Fingerboard is made in Wenge, the Body is made from Maple and the bass is fitted with a 2 Band MEC Electronics.

i was looking at an old bass player mag i think it was one from year 2000 and it had warwick streamer standards on the back cover, i was shocked they looked so cheap and so un warwick like one peice brigde with one of those soapbar pickups in the centre of the body. i was probally so shocked because im used to looking through all the bass in the CS, my my times have changed.

There was recently one of those on Ebay, I considered it, kept an eye on it, but the bidding went WAY beyond what I was willing to pay. It did have the Ovangkol neck, wenge fretboard, but otherwise a description I read (after a wee bit of research) sounded a whole lot like the RockBass Streamer.

i thought it was RB when i first saw it. that bass must have been the starting point of the rockbass series idea, with the low price they prob would have sold a whole heap of them and decided to make cheap replicas of famous warwick designs.

I'll disagree with you. The bass is made of Cherry, not maple.

I know, it's difficult to tell from such a small photo. Of course I'll post more when I get my hands on it - hopefully later this week.

Was a bit of a risky purchase, but if it turns out half decent it'll be a bit of a bargain.

Wow! I'm not one for one-piece bridge Warwicks, but that bass you got is SWEEET! Get the old skool funk out! Great find IMO! 8)
