I was thinking about buying a 2003 Thumb Bleached Blonde I saw on ebay, and while doing some research on the thing, I came across this weirdness:

Anyone know what gives with 3 #3s, all 4 strings and different totals produced?

Yeah, that seller is wrong. I've been meaning to message him. A lot of people get it wrong with the LTD's.

Pre 2008, the first number is the year, and the second number is the actual serial #, for many of the LTD's. I think the 2002 JB LTD is an exception.

So all the '03 LTD's start with 3. All the '07 LTD's start with 7/001 etc. It was a very odd way to do those serial markers and luckily in 2008, they started doing it normal. "1/250" type thing.

yep - stupid scheme btw but not as stupid as invisible fret technology :-)

Thanks you Hoggles! Now I understand, and yeah, that is a curious numbering system. I am kinda on the fence about that bleached blonde. The price seems a bit high, but gosh it's pretty. Plus, I like what someone did with moving the bottom strap location.

like my bleached blonde. So light compared to all the other Wicks
