I'm not a geek!
I used to be. I used to play World of Warcraft. Then decided I had to choose between world of warcraft and education & social life. I quit world of warcraft. Got me in to bass playing again. (I NEVER, EVER practised!!) and I got a girlfriend now.
I don't regret it. And I'm proud to say I escaped the grips. It's really no joke. It is an addiction, and you don't just quit like that.
A guy I know (Bad friend, he's a total geek) plays WoW and similiar games. He's a year ahead of me.
In 9th grade he had straight A's in just about everything (social life ain't no school subject) but then he started playing wow. He didn't get in to the high school he wanted because he's grades weren't high enough after 10th grade. So he got in to a school where he didn't like it. And bam, he just dropped out, he's going to another highschool that requires far lower grades than he's cabable of.
He could have been a fucking doctor, brain surgeon. But he blew it away for a gay little fantasy game. I am really pissed at him for letting himself go. (Did I mention he's not sosial at all? He's few friends and him only talk about games and such. He's become unbearable and arrogant. Yea, he's not a friend...)

That guy's hilarious, the tape holding the glasses together is the crowning touch. Love the geeky face disortions too, I don't think I could concentrate on playing and doing that at the same time, he's a damned good player. Great sense of humor too.

Back to the WoW stuff... I'm thankful that stuff wasn't around when I was a teenager, otherwise I would be that geek and waste my entire life! Even the "mature adult" version of me has trouble distinguishing fact from fantasy sometimes! :wink:
