I've this bass since quite some years, bought because it was a quality bass at a cheap price. Just since some years I've learned about the story behind the instrument, that I think you all know in this Forum.
The first 100 and so of this production is known to have a construction vice in the neck, so I think mine is among them..
The truss rod went out from the back of the neck trough the years and I gave the bass to a really qualified luthier in Italy (Marco De Santis from Treviso) and he came out with the only solution to keep the instrument alive and palying.
To me the bass now sounds perfect (although one of the split is not working and have to be replaced but) but I understand that the intervent was strong... what do you think about it?

any suggestion about the value of the instrument at the moment?

if in proper condition they sell for 650-<1000 Euro in Germany/Spain etc.
 
yeah I did know that the Frankestain collar could have started some ironies but it is still a #108! :)
 
he, the headstock-solution is really crazy, ...but it works i think.
 
I would like to try one of these , is it the first bass Warwick didi back then!

yes, it is working.. and also the looking is no so impressive from a front view..
anyway, anyone know something about the neck problem on the NM project? anyone with an earlier or low number working NM?
 
What s the sound & feel of these NM s , it would be inetresting to know your experiences with these .
 
Is the fascination with these basses just that they are early Warwicks? I think they are ugly as sin and they look terribly uncomfortable to play either sitting down or with a strap.

Then again I've never laid hands on one and my opinion may change once that happens :)
 
Yep, the playing feel might be of a Steinberger but the fell & sound , whatever.
 
well the NMs are very resonant, very organic and simply feel killer:-) But you are right the ergonomics are debateable:-)
 
it's like a thumb and a streamer stage I having a kid...
you've got that classic bright sound which tends to be very growly and a little dry. sounds really awesome!
i think a 4-string streamer with the specs of a nobby would be one of the ultimative warwick basses:) (damn there goes another cs-idea...)

U bet herb ,,we can t look @ thee , we re gonna dream again & it will cost a fortune later on
