New vs 'Old' cabs/amps

Hi all!

I'm a proud owner of an extreme 10 and 2 cabs, the 411 and a 211 wca pro cab.

Now OFCOURSE I'm very, very curious of the new WA amps and the new 411 cabinets.

Is there anything known about the differencies in sound between the new and old?

If anyone can help me with this , cuz I'd love to try one of them, but will result in buying a head and cab to do some testing :(

(and thats only because there this actually , absoluteley NO store anywere in holland were I can try one of them!!! or will have the guts to become a Warwick retailer)
 
I'm not an expert on the new amps and cabs but I do know from experience that what you have currently is VERY good gear. Any particular reason why you want the new amp or cabs?
 
I'm playing 2 bands at the moment and dragging the cabs and amp up and down is a bit of a no-go ;)

The second band is a metal band and I think I could use a 15 incher. On the other hand I just would like to hear what Warwick has in store with the new amps :d

I was never interested in 15 inch cuz i was always had diffeculty hearing my articulation of the notes.
I´m really curious what the BC 300 does in comparison to a 10inch speaker cabinet, cuz the youtube channel of Andy sounds like they have done a great job getting a wide range of punch outof a 15 inch speaker :)

The new BC 150 combo is the clearest and punchiest bass combo amp I've ever played, so I think BC 300 would do it even better with deeper design and more tone controls. Everything is clear and articulated even with low A tuning

I couldn't test them side by side, but I own the old amification, and I tested the new one.

First of all, they are not in the same league. Before we had the entry level ProFet, and the professional line Xtreme and Tubepath
The New WA amps, have much better quality than ProFet, but they are not as good as the Xtreme. We upgraded the professional line too, we have the Hellborg line now :)

So you suggest that if I in any case would want an extra combo/rig I should buy the same or even better...update to hellborg amp/cabs? :twisted:

What's youre preff nowadays? Only playing Hellborg now? :D
 
Oh yeah, to me the Hellborg rig is the Holy Grail of amplification. Nothing comes even close in my book. The preamp has a so special silky still very solid and powerful sound, and the cabinets are incredible!

To me is not just a better rig, but a new experience of playing bass live.

Ive been thinking about the 2x12 hellborg CAB, think it would be an awsome upgrade!

The only thing is... it's 4 ohm right? is it possible to just hook it up to my Xtreme?
 
Sure, why not.
Be aware that Hellborg cabs are not very loud, but they have a good presence on stage. The sound is not loud, but you can hear your bass everywhere.
The 212 is not intended to be used as a standalone, but I found it to be the sweetest cab of the Hellborg line, the one I used to be miked in studio.
If you want loud, then club cab + lo cab is the way to go
 
It would be nice to test the Hellborg 2x12 together with a WCA 411. Clarity + loudness?
 
You need two amps for that, or a 2 ohms amp, since the HI cab is 4 ohms.
