New Vintage Member; 1989 SSII

Hi Guys,

Finally today my GAS has calmed down; I got my old SSII!

Totally love it, a lot more versatile than my thumb but a different sound than I expected. I'm waiting for the guys from the serial dept to tell me something more and to find out if the bartolinni's came from the factory or were installed later.

PS can some of you SSII experts take a look at the electronics and see if its original? Thx!!

Electronics look absolutely period correct to me. Bartolinis may have been factory installed as an option, EMGs being the regular pickups, IIRC. Mine looks exactly like yours, except for the EMGs.

Erm lol schlobodan, do u mean MEC 2 band eq or are you referring to the pickups? Those MEC's have BARTOLINI written all over them :lol:

The original preamp in my '89 Streamer Ltd. Edition looked exactly like that. Unfortunately it turned into an oscillator...

You have a great bass! May I add that almost for nobody is important if the electronics are original? We treat our axes as instruments, and we see changes as upgrades. They are not collectibles.

Lol Flo. I totally agee! A bass should be played and not collected and put in a closet. However is it always nice too know how a bass left the factory ;o)

Not in the Warwick world, really Nobody really cares about, and it has ZERO influence in sound. For a 57 Fender, the difference can be a couple of thousand dollars for a bloody pot. Warwick is just like a chopper. We like to mod our basses
