New toy...

I put about a month's worth of overtime in at work and had a not-so-great start to my year - nothing as bad as my house being broken into but almost. I've been needing to bring my amp situation up to speed anyway and happened across this little guy earlier today. They had a good price and it sounded really good with a Vette Proline that was sitting near it so I figured, what the heck. Might as well. ~M~
 
I still have it: Fender Bassman 150w 1x12 combo. Excellent travel and practice rig for the price, but it's not necessarily designed for extended range instruments like our Warwick's. It does okay with a B string but only at practice volume. Gets a bit murky at higher levels and I've been wanting to experiment with a better preamp and a 2x10 setup. It was either the Metro or a GK 700RB 2x10. This one crossed my path at the right time... ~M~
 
Nice rig Mick,as you know I love Eden,the amps AND the place. :wink:
 
Greg - Yeah, I hear Eden's a nice place to visit. I do remember hearing something about the trees there, though. Can't for the life of me think what it was... :roll: Oh well. If it's important, I'm sure someone will tell me.

Kevin - Thanks!! I'm still learning it but so far it's amazing. I really did want the PJB, but in the end they were only about $200 apart so... Eden it is! ~M~

Actually it didn't have the wheels with it, or the footswitch. I found that Eden sells the wheels on their site pretty cheap but I haven't gotten an answer back yet about the switch. It isn't really necessary at the moment but I'd still like to have one if I can find it. Thanks for the compliments!! ~M~
 
LOL,you thought of trees coz it's a logging town. :shock: But it's more famous for the fact it's the only place on earth that wild killer whales helped herd large blue & humpback whales into the harbour where they'd anchor the whale carcass overnight to let the killer whales eat the choicest bits,namely the lips & tongue."Old Tom" was a bull killer whale that ruled the roost for decades,his skeleton is in it's own museum,complete with worn teeth from years of hunting with the local whalers.Old Tom would bite onto ropes helping the whalers in their hunt.Either towing whaling boats or slowing down a harpooned whale.The biggest blue whale ever caught was at Eden,98 feet long mate,a MONSTER!
btw did I tell you my ex-inlaws just built a beachfront mansion at Kiama & I'm welcome anytime. :D They dont live their yet,hooowooo.Haworth Guitars are at Kiama too,big dealer. :wink:
 
It wouldn't happen to be near the blowhole would it?
 
Awesome. Kiama is really nice, but just don't let Zakk run around near the hole, quite a few people have gotten sucked in! :shock:
 
Your not wrong Kris,an entire family got sucked in & then the rest of the tribe went back the following week & jumped in. :shock:
It's usually tourists that try to get way too close to the thing,it's bloody dangerous even at low swells.
