new Thumb Bubinga BO

Maybe I missed it, but has anyone tried the new Thumb Bubinga BO. How does it compare to Ovangkol? Does it sound more like a NT or more like a corvette?

i bet it would be growly as hell man!! i just wanna get a 5string thumb, i dont care if its ovangkol or bubinga, just want one!

my understanding is that bubinga and ovangkol have very similar tonal qualities, but bubinga is a little lighter (and prettier).

Maybe I'll take a little trip down the the NYC CS and hopefully they have one. Forunately for me, I doubt it will be a broadneck 5 or else I am going to rob the nearest bank!

I would bet those "new" bubinga Thumb BO will hit stores near summer, with all the new Artist and Pro Series basses. Maybe or friend Flo could give us an estimated arrival date.

It is no such thing as "arrival date" for those. If you order a thumb BO NOW, it will be bubinga. Delivery time as usual 6 to 8 weeks.

From multiple opinions I've heard on the web, bubinga would have a little more bottom and treble.
