I bought the RB Corvette Premium yesterday...apparently it has this continuous hissing sound coming from the amp (tested it in 2 different amp and it's still there), it got worst when i turn the treble up.
Is this usual for an active pickup??? Or should i take the bass back to the shop??

Apart from that, i've noticed that the 8th fret (F) on the A string is slight sharp but the rest of the note higher up the neck are fine...what would be causing this? or is it my ear problem?

Hi buddy, welcome to the forum!

The hissing sound is not normal, active pickups should be silent. COuld you please some pics with your bass?

Hi, I just received my new Rockbass Corvette Active Basic 5-string two days ago. I am really impressed. But...

I noticed it is sensitive to RF noise when the treble is boosted. I was actually listening to the radio (FM 103.5) on mine. I put a split ferrite choke (like this Snap Choke Core - RadioShack.com) on the red power leads where the line is spliced, and on the rear pickup harness. This, combined with shielding the rear compartment cover has made a huge difference.

I still get some hiss if I turn the volume and treble all the way up (literally, which I never do), but the RF noise is gone. So, I figure this, and/or a thorough shielding of the pickups and electronics compartment will help you.

Bob
