Hey guys,

Just wanted to share with you the news. Just got the answer from the Ambassade and now it's official : I'm leaving France next June for Canada and moving to Montréal :P

A new start, a new town, without knowing anyone but life is taking risks. Really excited about that, plus, NYC is only 500 km away.

I guess Casper will meet the Iroquai from time to time :)

If you got some feedback about this city or Canada in general, please, feel free to share ;)
 
Heh, sounds nice. Reading your thread title I thought you were expecting a kid or something. :)

I'm happy and sad in the meantime. David is one of my best buddies "in real life", and I can only be happy for him because it's a great opportunity. But I'm sad too, coz who knows when we will see each other again? With whom am I gonna spend hours talking about bass stuff?
Anywayz mate, I hope everything will be cool for you in Canada and I hope you'll fulfill your dreams and expectations.

I'm not gonna spoil David's thread with my own life, but David's choice has an influence on my own "direction". I had also the long time project of moving abroad, and it was planned for 2012. David and I were supposed to go to NYC on holidays (again!) in Sept. 2011, but David's project somehow cancelled the trip. So i changed my plans and next June, I should be "moving" to Edinburgh, Scotland. I love the place and I feel like I do need to spend some time abroad. For my english, and for myself. The main difference with David, who has a 1 year visa, is that I don't know how long I'm going to stay there. 3 months? 6 months? One year? More? The longer the better, but i just dont know how things are gonna happen there, so I'll see on time....

You know, David and I had long chats about this and we came to the same conclusion: we got to make this if we want to make something of our lives.
 
Oh thanks a lot for the links :D Gonna be usefull for sure. Wish to meet some musicians out there, some groovy scenes...

Yeah my visa is for a year. I'll ask for a permanent residence later this year...but first things first : find out how life is out there!
 
I'm jealous. Nothing more I can say.
Also thinking a lot about what to do after university (even wich MBA to choose, where, when...) - we'll see. I doubt any of you guys will have problems with his choice - at least none you won't be able to master. Enjoy!

Hi David.

I think you'll like Montreal, aside from most of the drivers being retarded, there's lot's of music, lots of pretty women, wine, cheese, poutine aplenty, and lots of history.

I'm sure you'll have no problem making friends, as long as you speak and read French.

Have you heard about Canadian winters?
I recommend you do some research and find a good winter parka, boots, mitts, a hockey stick, and a pair of ice skates.

Just kidding, (maybe), Montreal isn't that cold compared to other places.
Like Winnipeg for instance, coldest city on earth with a population over 600,000, murder capital of Canada 3 years in a row.

My two visits to Canada have been short and with work but I've loved it. Wish you all the best in Montréal.

Yeah... Like I said, David's choice influenced mine. If the NYC trip was still planned, my move to Scotland would have been in 2012. But this, plus the fact that my job REALLY bores me, brings my project closer to what I was expecting. And to be honest, it's the perfect moment. 2012 is way too far.
 
June is a good time in Edinburgh - u need to get urself over to visit in Montréal as well though!

Hum, I got a question about which bass I should take with me : I take the plane + arrive in a youth hostel I think. Should a take my Stage I or do you think the Iroquai could make the trip safe?
